Jeep India has officially discontinued the Compass petrol. There is no replacement planned for the petrol engine option. The Jeep Compass will continue to be on sale only with the diesel engine option. While most carmakers are discontinuing diesel powertrain options across their lineup, Jeep India is phasing out petrol engine options.

Jeep has released an official statement on this matter stating – “The Premium SUV segment continues to enjoy a strong demand for diesel powertrain. Jeep India will continue to invest and develop its efficient state-of-the-art 2.0 L MultiJet Turbo Diesel powertrains offering superior torque, lower emissions and impressive fuel efficiency. Jeep India is committed to the market and has significant product plans for the future. We will continue to explore all possible engine and fuel options in line with the evolving market preferences to offer what is most relevant to our consumers.”

The Jeep Compass is now only available with the 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 172 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It is available with 6-speed manual transmission and 9-speed automatic transmission options.

While most carmakers are discontinuing diesel powertrain options across their lineup, Jeep India is phasing out petrol engine options. In addition to the petrol variants, Jeep has also discontinued the top-spec Trailhawk variant of the Compass that came with the 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 4x4 drivetrain.
